Its been a while since i posted. In fact, i think this might be my first worhtwhile post of the summer.

Summer hasnt quite felt like summer to me yet. I have yet to just do whatever i want all day. As probably all of you already know, i moved back in June and have been steadily unpacking. Finally i am FINISHED!!! If you want to come over and hang out just let me know sometime.

I just joined a new soccer team, Arsenal 87. I just had a team meeting a few days ago, and my coach gave me a big workout schedule for summer. It sucks. I have to run several miles every other day and do 100 situps and pushups each day. But i am lookin forward to it. Real practice starts in the beginning of August.

What else should i write about on here? Writing! I am really starting to write more seriously. I am really broadening my style and am writing much better. I am starting to work on creative writings for the literary magazine i joined recently, "THE MUSe." I am also spending more time on my lyrics, and now i take forever to finish them. I am also trying to become more stylistically advanced on guitar, and playing new things. My overall taste in music is greatly expanding.

Oh, i just thought of something wierd goin on with me right now - I can never NEVER sleep. it is gettin annoying. i sleep very little, and feel like an insomniac. AHHHHHH!

Not really much left to tell. If you want me to share other events of my life/day then just ask. I am really trying to avoid getting personal in here. Till later...

- Chris

by the way, sorry for the late post for those who were expectin an earlier one as promised.

hmm, its been a while since i have posted somethin worthwhile. i guess ill give this lj another try, see if i like it.

lately, i have been writing a ton. i suddenly love it. i am constantly writing new lyrics, and i am even exploring creative writing (stories, poems, etc.) I find that it is a great way for me to escape hectic, every day life.

The songs i am now writing are drastically improving. I am trying to layer them with more metaphors and a deeper meeting. I am moving on into darker, more serious writings. I am doing my best to try to overcome my habit of writing emo-ish songs, and tryings to broaden my skills. I am also experimenting with songs with a humurous edge to them.

Now i just need a real band. I am in a jam-type band with a friend, but is kinda a joke. However, another guy and i have been planning to form a group for a while. So far, it is him (the bassist,) me (guitar) and another back up guitarist. The bassist and i can each do vocals. It is very sketchy rigt now cuz we dont have a drummer, and we have yet to get together and even try to play.

thats about all that is happenin. i might post some writings soon, but not now.

more later

I am sort of giving up the whole lj thing for a while. I find that i spend all this time writing in it, which is completely pointless. If you really want to know what is going on in my life, i find that it is more worthwhile and much more personal to ask me. Just ask. I am taking a brake writing on here for a while. You all know how to contact me otherwise.

Later -

Chris

Yea, its been a while since i posted.

The end of the year has arrived. It is definitely bittersweet. As all of you know, this year I transfered to MUS. This change could not have been better for me. I really find that as i walk down the halls every day, i really belong. I cant describe how good that feels. I have made soo many new friends, had so many good times, and have discovered much more about myself. I good example of a new discoverey is my choice to write next year. At the beginning of the year, i never would have thought that by the end of school, i would be a writer for the MUSE. (the MUSE is a literary and creative writing magzine). Odd to think that i really didnt like writing, but now i love it. It is just such a great way to express myself. (Much of this has to do witrh, however, my lyric writing). I will definitely be sad to leave for the summer, especially when i think of how i am already 1/4 of the way through with high school.

Exams this week. I have been doin very well, and have math tommorrow. In fact, i have to get back to work. Will be sure to update soon.

Thanks for everything that anyone reading this has done for me this year. I really appreciate you all.

- Chris

Its been quite a while since I last post, and for a change, a LOT has happened.

On Friday, i got to tour the inside of my new house and look at everythin for the FIRST TIME. seems odd, but even though we have had it for a little while now and move in in ONE MONTH i have only seen the inside once. But oh well.

MUSIC FEST WAS THE WEEKEND, and it kicked ass. Although i was extremely pissed that i wasnt able to go on Friday, and ended up missing The Offspring, I went on saturday and sunday and hung out there until it ended each night.

On Saturday i saw Shinedown, Switchfoot, and Fuel. Shinedown put on a good show, and Fuel was fucking awesome. Shinedown played an 8 minute version of "45". since it was rainin really bad, Switchfoot's mics and guitars kept messin up and shortin out, so at first they sounded like SHIT. But after their techs got everything workin, they were pretty cool. During that show, when everyone was throwin bottles and shit back in forth up front, a friend of mine got hit in tthe eye with a glass flask, and his eye was swollen shut.

On Sunday, I went later in the evening, and saw O.A.R., Steve Miller Band, and the FOO FIGHTERS!! OAR sounds better live than on a recording, and played a 15 minute rendition of Crazy Game of Poker, which was awesome. I then saw part of the Steve Miller Band, and that was pretty cool. Finally ,Foo Fighters were scheduled to wrap up Music Fest and were scheduled to start at 9:10. It was rainin really hard the wind was a bitch, and all of that together was screwin up the set. For a while, i didnt think they would show, but suddenly, they ran out on stage and Dave Grohl (lead singer and guitarist) started screamin "I dont give a shit about this rain. We're here to play!" And started. Their set was awesome and they started with All My Life, then played My Hero, Learn to Fly, and Times Like These all in a row, then played other songs off of their cd, One By One. IT WAS FUCKING INSANE!

Anyway, the weekend was great, and re-inspired me to start listenin to the bands that i saw. Several years ago, i was a huge Fuel fan, then moved on. Also more recently, i was a big Foo Fighters fan, but then stopped listenin to them, but now i am listenin to them compulsively again.

I encourage everyone to go out to musicfest next year.

Yea, more later, i guess...

For a while, our coach (Senor) had 2 midfielders (me and someone else) agaisnt 4 midfielders from collierville, and he had our 3 defenders against like 4 forwards. They were also a HELL of a lot faster than our team. Yea, the game pretty much sucked.

Its been quite a while since i last updated, yet not a lot has really happened that is important enough to let everyone know about.

My soccer team has been doin alright. We beat st georges a while ago. Currently we are in a tournament and we tied St Benedict last night 2-2, and beat Bolton this morning 2-0. Later on at 3:00 we play cbhs at bolton. Right now we are in second place in the tournament, right behind cbhs.

Yesterday at school we had red and blue convention at school. Basically it is a day where a selected group of people meet ALL DAY to discuss and choose candidates for the upcoming student council elections. I was elected in my homeroom for red convention. All we did for the entire day was tell hilarious stories about the candidates. In all, we probably got about half an hour of actual work done. In the blue convention, they basically did the same thing.

I also have a great story: Will Aldridge was in the blue convention, and our headmaster walked in and saw Will with his pants down, literally. Aldrige was performing "penis tricks" and showing off to his group what shapes he could make. i didnt see any, but is most have been fuckin hilarious. All we know is that he is now in a SHITLOAD of trouble.

This week we finally bought a new house. It is located in the highlands, in Germantown. We will move into the house June 2-4, and close out our current home on June 4.

I really can't think of much more worth sharing. More later...

    <lj:music>The Living End - Who's gonna save us?</lj:music>

i have realized what things i want to do in my life. I would love to do something involving law and government, expecially international. AS all of you know i love to debate politics, and i have the heart of an activist. I also am extremely interested in international cultures and their laws, particularly the very liberal countries like france (vive le france) and canada ( a joke - how do you spell canada? C eh? N eh? D eh?)hahaha, get it!?! woo, i crack myself up sometimes

Also, i would love to open a record label and recording studio. That has always been one of my life dreams, and recently after an advisor meeting i realized how possible that is. We planned out the rest of my high school career, and talked about colleges. Suddenly the truth that i could actually accomplish my goals hit me and really inspired me.

Just thought i should share - for some reason.

Another very important thing has been happening lately. Exactly 13 days ago, we put our house on the market. On saturday, it sold!!!!!!!!! after 11 days!! oh yea, however, we dont have another house yet, but we just found one this evening that looks extremely promising, and my parents toured it for a long time and my dad kept looking at it for almost 2 hours extra. right now they are busy downstairs writing up idea for it and possibilities for a contract. wait, now as i listen in i hear they are actually formulating the fine print and writing out a posisble offer. hell yea. It is an incredible house on over 2 acres, massive home, for a criminally low price. woah. however, it is not in the greatest of shape and is wierdly designed inside. so this summer if this is the house, i will be working on it a lot.

I forgot the exact adress, but will post it soon.

more later...

Chris

today i glanced as wesgoerge's lj, and read

"i saw this bumpersticker on the way home today... it said "why do we kill people who kill people to show that killimg people is wrong?"

i guess i used to support the death penalty, but after reading that i think completely differently. anyway, having to rot in jail for the rest of ur life thinking about how ur gonna burn in hell is a better punishment than giving them the ease of dying. it also gives the convicts a chance to turn their life around if they choose to do so. im not saying we should let them out or anything, but at least were giving them the choice turning things around in a religious way.

anyway, please reply id love to see some other opinions."

I also believe that the death penalty needs to be taken away.

MY REASONS:

on the contrary to popular belief, the death penalty really does cost MORE then to carry out a life sentence - really. i was just informed of this 2 weeks ago. in realioty, it costs considerably less (several thousands of dollars less) to carry out 80 years of one convicts time in prison then it does to kill him?

Another point - in TN, the last time someone was killed was in 1964. Since then, we have only had convicts waiting on death row, which costs thousands and thousands more to keep them on death row then to give them a life sentence. since our last killing, 98 convicts have been put on death row, wasting our tax dollars.

yet another point. By giving convicts life sentences, they can also work for us, providing cheap labor that will cost nothing and help the state.

i was recently informed of all of this about 2 weeks ago by several students at youth leg, and they had every fact one could want or need. i will soon ask them for their information as i would love to share it.

more later...

- Chris

the war in iraq....

once again, our efforts to help iraq (when they dont even want help from us) have harmed us. a few days ago, an suv carrying 5 americans peace keepesr was ambushed and burned, and they killed all of them and drug their bodies through the streets, desecrated them, and hung them from bridges. then a day later the same thing happened with an suv carrying several american soldiers, and their bodies were horrifically mutilated and desecrated. I ahave been against this war from the start, and thought we should never have sent troops in. now, i hope the rest of the public will wake up and open their eyes to what is really happening. I am disgusted that even after this has happened, the president does not remove other troops or finally admit that we may and probably will never establish the democracy that he wanted in Iraq.

Bush is such a dirtball. Recently his ex- Security advisor has told the public that Bush ignored 9-11 threats and warnings and didnt think twice...till it really happened. Then he kept it all very quiet as to not ruin his image. Now that the public knows that he knew this, instead of doin the right thing, he is having Condeliza Rice give public statements why SHE didnt do something. That is so low, but hey, he needs a scapegoat so he has a change in the election... Lets hope 4 years of Bush was more than enough for the american people.

its been a while since i last posted, so its time to update.

Last thursday through sunday night i was in nashville participating in Youth Legislature. My bill fuckin owned the place and passed in house 45-3-0 and in senate 28-0 and it was signed by our governor immediately. I was also the only freshman elected to an office, and i will now serve as next year's chief sergeant at arms. The meetings at the conference sucked. After thinking about it, i calculated that we were in a total of 32 hours of working meetings with no free time. Then we were required to stay up and go to the social events until 12 each night, fell asleep about 1ish and then we woiuld wake up at about 6 the next morning. i got no sleep and have felt sick as shit and very tired lately.

tommorrow we have another soccer game and play cbhs again at MUS at 5:00. i hope we win.

Not much else to say and i have got a shitload of work and studyin to do. i swear i am in over my head, and have more work than i have time to complete and have too many tests and quizzes to the point that even after postponin some of them because three are already scheduled on the same day, i will keep bumpin them to other days that i already have three on. Fuck this.

more later...

today at my last youth legislature meeting before the big trip beginning on thurs, i decided to run for a 2005 office. i am now officially running for the 2005 Red House Seargant at Arms. this position lets me be an officer, i dont have to do a bill, but i still get to debate. this position entitles me to be the muscle of the house. i obtain order, kick people out, keep people from leavin/entering, i can even fine people!! i am running unopposed at MUS and hope no one else runs against me from Memphis, because it would be nice to be a shoe in. hopefully i will win. if you are going to conference A please vote for me!

more later

    <lj:music>The Living End - Roll On</lj:music>

its been a while since ive posted, so i feel i need to do so now.

For a while now my family has been talkin bout moving and we have been searchin for a new house for a while as well. Recently, we finally signed with a realestate agent, and we are puttin my house on the market on TUESDAY. However, in my opinion, my parents are rushin this. We have not even yet found another house that is the right one, so we are really crackin down looking.

I have really gotten back into guitar. for a while i was kind of in a slump and wasnt doin much. but recently a friend came over and we messed around some with writing some songs, and it has really re-awakened me. i have been playin and writin like crazy recently and im about to buy a ton of new equipment.

By the way, if anyone is interested in playin together, even just to mess around, let me know.

I have been watchin the NCAA tournament a lot lately. TODAY however, my bracket went to hell when Gonzaga lost. i had them winnin it all. Now i will give up on my bracket and the contest im in with it, and just pay attention to memphis, and hope they beat OK STATE, which we can do if we play incredibly, and if burks and banks acutally play well, and if carney plays the way he did against South Carolina.

More later...

i have been thinking this over for a while, and i think it is finally time that i brought somethin controversal up in my LJ.

What is with all you conservatives? I mean, why would yall like to be known as up-tight people who are behind the times. Why would anyone want to dissaprove of pro choice, or gay marriage. i mean, its their own lives and their own experiences so let THEM decide, because it sure as hell wont govern MY life. I really urge everyone to to think about these things, because these options and decisions define the place we live in.

Another thing. As many of you already know i strongly do NOT approve of Bush. I do not believe that he is leading our country in the way that is best for the country and the people. Did you know that the majority of the public dissaproved of the war with iraq, and the security council of the united nations unanimously said no to bush's propositions of a war. And then he rushed into, got a bunch of soldiers killed, and ended up making the middle east dislike us even more then before. Even before the war the hated us and said they didnt want help, and now they hate us even more for interfeering with their business. Now we are trying to push for an american "supervised" governing council. this is wrong.

i will post later and add MUCH MORE of my opinions, espicially about how the country is headed me in the wrong way. Please let me know if you want to talk to me about this stuff, or even argue. im me at chrismcd88 or email me at chrismcd88@hotmail.com
